The lost portrait of Alice Keppel now relives it’s grandeur by going back home... Edward VII most likely commissioned this work to the artist Ellis Roberts who subsequently also painted all of Queen Victoria’s children. Lost through time or possibly disposed of upon the Kings demise, we will never know, however the painting will now never been too far away from where it belongs... in the Royal Household. Ellis Roberts (1860-1930) Painted all of Queen Victoria's children and exhibited sixteen portraits at the Royal Academy from 1886 to 1902.
